Next is the City of Lewiston, which is currently hiring fire fighters, police officers, and a building official. Education is very high on the list. Lewiston is the home of Lewis Clark State College, which U.S. News and World Report has ranked this 4 yr. public college #1 in the West!! GO Warriors!!! Nez Perce County is 6th with openings for a programmer and a substance abuse counselor. Coming in 7th for jobs is the Nez Perce Tribe, followed by Potlatch Corp with 1800 employees in Lewiston. Our local mill produces paper products such as toilet paper, paper towels and plates, paperboard, and liquid containers. It produces 180,000 tons of tissue products annually for private label companies such as Safeway, and Western Family. It's workforce is union with top notch wages and benefits.
