camera-1.gif image by DivaNCaliMy dear colleagues, Please, Please, Please!  When taking pictures of your listings, PLEASE take a picture of just the HOUSE and/or PROPERTY!

When looking on the MLS, it's bad enough to come across a listing with no picture, but I'd rather see a listing without a photo, than see one of a house with PEOPLE in it.  I don't know if they're the sellers, or who they are, but they don't do ANYTHING for marketing the listing, except make the potential buyer subconsciously discount the list price.

Remember, you want your listing to SELL, so you can get PAID!  The majority of home searches are started on the internet, with limited access to the MLS or the buyers agent will forward MLS listings to their clients.  Nobody wants to look at a house that has someone sitting on the porch, or walking by or even worse --- sitting/sleeping on the couch!  You are SHOWCASING your listing to SELL, so you can get PAID!  Also, if some of the rooms aren't tidy, DON'T photograph them, and certainly DON'T post them!

Personally, I'd rather see a picture of anything rather than no picture at all.

What I can't stand is the listing with 5 photos of the front from slightly different angles and then 1 of the kitchen or something like that. Aah! I just can't get over that pet peeve.

I really like the pics of the Realtor's shiny new car in the driveway, or better yet, the baby in the front yard with only a diaper on.

What about those pictures that seem to be selling the furniture and not the house or condo?

Or those showing how much stuff the next owner will be able to display on the kitchen counter top?

A garage full of boxes and old stuff can be also a great selling point!

You are so right. Bad picture ruin the potential  of a home. Also dark pictures steer buyers away.
