REALTORS pay for everything

By

I was just wondering if anyone else is feeling like I am...

As REALTORS we seem to have an unlimited amount of training available to us at all times.  If it is not the local, state, or national association than it is some other cpompany.  They all seem to give us just enough information to get us interested and than they want to sell us something for the entire information.

Learning is great and so inormation, and I go to as amny classes and training as my schedule allows, but do we really have pay for everything all the time?  Will anyone ever offer something in one sitting as the fullpackage?

When I first started in the business someone said "The best way to make money in real estate is to sell something to REALTORS."  After close to 10 years in business this sure seems to ring true.

Wht do you think...?

Having looked at the Realtors I work with, I would say this is true.  Teasers keep you on the brink of buying something....and then when you get it, you realize you could have gotten it for free.

Yes!  We have people constantly coming to our sales meetings suggesting more things we can buy.  For all that flexibility and "glamour" we have very high overhead.

Ron .... I agree with you ... I spent too much money in the beginning of my career that I could have used better ... even our associations sell classes to us that in my (not so humble) opinion should be given to us as a member benefit

Coral .... I would guess that most of what they sell ou likely do not really need to succeed .......

Lehal - You are right. Everyone wants to sell something to the Realtors. In the last several years, I limited my expenses, even if other Realtor criticize me for it.

John .... I am on the same page with you .... I have limited what I buy ... my new philosophy is that if I do not get immediate benefit than there is no reason for it

there is a recent exception ..... I was at the NAHREP convention a few weeks back and all the lenders will be looking for largely recognized designations ... I see a $ 399 expenditure in my near future

So true! I get daily e-mails from companies trying to sell realtors everything from lead generation to marketing materials, phones, computers, signs and much more. I even got a voice mail today from a printing company advertising their specials. I am very careful with where I spend my dollars these days. I need to see a return on investment, before I purchase anything. Thanks for the post.

Hi Donna ... my email is full of the same ... at least I now manage to filter most out in gmail ... I really dislike the ones from former REALTORS that always try to sel their old systems ...
