The leaves are starting to change to their beautiful Yellows, Oranges and Reds in Leesburg Va.  All to soon the trees are bare and we need to know what to do with all the fallen leaves.  Here is the schedule to help you take care of the leaves once they have fallen.

2011 FALL LEAF COLLECTION SCHEDULE

The 2011 Fall bulk leaf collection will begin October 24, 2011.

Leaves will be collected as follows:

Southwest, Southeast, Northwest & Northeast

There will be a crew in each quadrant weekly. Collection begins on Monday - leaves should be at the curb Sunday night. Crews will pass through each street once weekly during the collection period. Schedules may vary from week to week depending on the volume of leaves and weather conditions. Unfortunately, we cannot provide a specific time crews will be in your area.

Please note: Market Street divides the town North and South.
King Street divides the town East and West.

When preparing leaves for collection, please follow these guidelines:

DO

Don't

Rake leaves to the curb by Sunday night each week of the collection season.

Do not place leaves in front of or next to storm drain inlets. Where possible leave a gap between leaves and the curb line to allow water to flow unrestricted into the storm drain inlets.

Rake leaves no more than 4 feet from the edge of the curb

Do not rake leaves into the street or in front of/around hydrants or utility boxes

Rake leaves as close to the property line as possible if you do not have a curb/sidewalk in front of your home

Do not allow children to play in leaf piles and do not park vehicles or leave other equipment in or around leaf piles (rakes, etc.)
