No, this is not a blog to go get your flu shot...or , wait, maybe it is just to prevent you from getting sick. Two adult people in my immediate sphere are down with some pretty awful colds, stomach problems, etc. What to do?
When you have children, it's easy. You hug them, give them yummy treats, tuck them into bed with their favorite toy, and let them watch TV until all hours.
Not so when you have an adult who is sicker than a dog (so to speak). All of a sudden they revert back to being a little kid and want to be "poor baby'd" over. With a little sick kid you are in charge with what gets done ie. air out the stuffy room, change their pyjamas, oh, and did I tell you about turning on the TV? This does not work with a sick adult. I hate to be unfeeling, but those pitiful moans and groans--only when you happen to be in the vicinity--can drive you right out of the house. Those "Dear, I'm going to the store to get some more chicken broth" trips become more frequent as the flu runs its course.
Real estate has its advantages when this happens in your house. "Dear, I have to show some houses today, be sure to call me if there is something I can bring back for you when I get back in a few hours!"
I know, I know, you want to be supportive because YOU MIGHT GET THE FLU NEXT. And who is going to "poor baby" you? Yes, that shivering 6 foot lump of misery you are trying to get away from.
SO GO GET YOUR FLU SHOTS BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE!!!!
