If a Picture Paint a Thousand Words......Then Why Not Use Some?

Listings with no pictures........seriously if you really want your listings to sell, it's called a camera. If you have a cellphone, you have a camera. Why on earth would anyone hoping to make money selling real estate not understand that if there's no picture on the listing......it won't sell.

Most of my business comes from out of state or international buyers. The process usually starts with phone calls and emails. The Buyers ask to start reviewing potential listings before they fly in to view. I set up the criteria and they start to get emails. If a listing has no pictures the client won't even consider it. Regardless of how good the description of the home is or how desirable the community is, the Buyer won't consider what he cannot see. So, my clients get back to me ready to fly in and see their chosen list of homes. No client has ever wanted to see a listing with no pictures. Even if I recommend the home and offer to preview and take pictures, they are generally not interested.

We live in a fast-paced world where people have so little time, isn't it incumbent upon us to make it easier for potential clients.

Please, take it from someone who deals with buyers every day, a picture is really worth a thousand words.

Oh, and one other thing, when you take the picture, make it a good one. A picture of half the living room wall and the ceiling doesn't quite get the job done. The stainless steel refrigerator is not representative of the kitchen and an unmade bed in the master bedroom....I'm not kidding, I've seen it all.

Even bad looking properties deserve a picture

I've cleaned, made beds, put things away and rearranged (to some extent) rooms so that I can get some good shots.  Even one picture is better than nothing.

What some agents probably don't realize is that many people will pass over listings without pictures. So why list them at all?

Great post. Good cameras are really inexpensive these days, and really easy to use, so I'm wiith you, why wouldn't an agent have good pictures and post as many as they can?  Thanks for reminding everyone to showcase their listings with lots of photos.

Oh, you are so right, I've done housekeeping many times before getting the camea ready. Would you believe I've had to ask owners to hide their dirty underwear so I could get a "clean" picture!
