So My Name Won't Come Up On Google Anytime Soon

There, I've said it. My name isn't going to come up on Google anytime soon. Maybe I should change my name or revert back to my maiden name. No, then it would be like starting over again and I've come to far to do that.

The problem is, Jennifer Esposito is an actress and I'm not. I'm guessing she doesn't have to blog or even have access to the Internet-just existing gets her name recognition. My company has a website, I blog, I utilize other websites to list property and I'm 'out there' but so far it's not enough. Of course I could try acting (ha ha) but I would probably face the name issue and be forced to change it.

So I'll have to be content with not showing up on the first 15, 20, 50+ pages of Google. There are a lot of blogs here on ActiveRain that mention Googling one's name and I'm sure 98% of real estate professionals do see themselves 'moving up' in search engines. Here I am merely blogging to share information, to learn, or to just plain have fun-is that so wrong?

My name ... well, it's pretty common. And there's a chick in ... "entertainment" ... with my name. I don't worry about it too much. If people are really looking for ME and can't find me, it's easy enough to add "real estate" or my area.

Sometimes I get tired of the pressure to 'rank higher' on search engines. I mean, real estate is local-as long as my target market finds me I'm happy.

*Hey I graduated from WV Canine College in '95, West Virginia was so different from CT I couldn't help but fall in love with it. Someday I hope to go back for a visit.

but it does if you Google your name and CT or Woodstock.

People get all weird about being on a first name basis with Google or another search engine but mostly Google but isn't the real point for people who don't know your name to learn your name and find your sites through searching for things like:

Woodstock homes, Woodstock CT, Woodstock real estate, Woodstock houses for sale... etc?

I found you no problem with your name and state, name and city.

I have a friend that has to use her middle initial because she shares a name with a Porn Star!!!! She just laughs when someone days they found her porn site!!!!!! So try an initial... it will set you apart from the rest... Besides being a great Realtor...!!!

I can relate, I too have an actor counter part but I found that if added my middle initial I could buy a domain name. My company even buys URL's for us and they ended up buying a .net for me instead of the standard .com

So, try adding your middle initial.

Jamie-Yeah, I've been told it'll help to add my middle initial but I think if the locals search for JenRan Realty and/or Jennifer Esposito, Realtor or Broker-they'll find me. I'd like to get a few more websites in the future. Thanks for stopping by.
