Free Flowing Hand Carved Bay Laurel Sculptures inspired by the Beauty and Power of the Ocean…
New and Past Works by Local Wood Artist, John McAbery.
Sculpture Designs, Art Posters, Prints and Cards by Gretchen Bunker.
John lives and carves in his small hand built ocean side cabin without electricity, phone or road access on the remote and rugged Lost Coast. He hand carves all of his sculptures from solid blocks of naturally fallen California bay laurel, using only a few simple hand tools, and a lot of muscle, talent and patience.
There will also be a Raffle and Silent Auction of our Carvings and Artwork to Benefit some great Local Community Groups such as: The Petrolia Fire Dept., The Mattole Salmon Group, Mattole Elementary School, Mattole Pre School, Triple Junction High, “Anna’s Journey”, the fund for Anna Morgan, Mattole Valley Community Center.
Everyone is invited! So, if you can, come to Petrolia and enjoy the waves at the beach, then see John’s amazing gravity defying hand carved sculptures, and help support some wonderful local organizations too!
