Growing Up in Ski Country

Here in Belle Creek we are extremely lucky.  Not only do we have the nice neighbors and a community center that brings us together, we have easy access to city life in Denver and world class skiing all along the Rocky Mountains.  And it is all an easy commute from I-76.

One of the things that prohibits families from taking advantage of the awesome skiing practically outside our doorsteps, unfortunately, is the expense.  When you are thinking about taking the kids to the mountains, ski school, lift tickets, lunches, and gear all add up- and keep some people off the slopes all together.  When I first came to Colorado, I was flabbergasted that I met people who had grown up here and had never been skiing!

Scoring Free Skiing

Everyone likes to get things for free, especially if they are neat or unusual or useful.  What if I told you that you could get FREE ski tickets?  It’s true!

When I first heard that I just had to check it out.  It had to be a one-time thing at some dinky ski slope no one ever heard of, I thought.  But, it could still be fun....

Nope.  I am happy to say that I was wrong!

Enter the 5th Grade Passport by Colorado Ski Country USA.  It allows your 5th grade student to get a ski pass that gives them 4 FREE ski days at 21 different resorts.  We’re talking Snowmass and Telluride!  And also, closer resorts like Eldora and Arapahoe Basin.

What if your kids are older?  The Passport extends to 6th graders, too, for a fee of $99, your 6th grader can enjoy 84 days of skiing this year!

Never skied before?  No worries- there is also a FREE SKI LESSON for first timer 5th or 6th graders, which includes rentals. (Applies for snowboarding too!)

What About the Rest of Us?

The rest of the family can also get some pretty great deals with the Colorado Gems Card.  This $10 investment will get you two-for-one or discounted adult and junior lift tickets.

What are you waiting for?  Don’t procrastinate- the Ski Passport is only available if you apply before January 31, 2012.
Go to www.coloradoski.com to find out more.  Please note that this REALTOR is not affiliated with the Passport Program or the Gems Card, but just loves to ski- especially if it’s FREE!  Call me to see what Belle Creek Homes are currently for sale- 720-341-5235

Hi Jenn....what a great opportunity for 5th and 6th graders to learn to ski....if you learn at a young age, you'll be a skier forever.....my youngest (not a kid anymore, for sure!!) loves to ski and snowboard....he was a skateboarder as a kid....and learned to ski at a young age.......the other kids were not interested ( they wish now that they had learned).....

Hi Jenn, sounds like a great incentive. I need to take you up on this, I do not know how to ski, but I do skate on the regular, and oh the homes sounds nice too. I wish the best of luck on your sales. That definitely is a life time mission learning how to ski in elementary school. Hopefully you find some  potential buyers who will get those homes closed! Have a great weekend!

Jenn I lived in Vail Co and all the kids had an opportunity to ski at just about any age.  It was a fantastic program and well used.  It's a good thing for kids to learn  how to ski - especially for goodness sakes they live in one of the best skiing areas of the country. I miss having my boards in my office and buzzine out for a few runs!  That was a fun time in my life :)

Ma- i learned to ski when I was 4 years old and I have loved it ever since.  It is so great to be able to learn when you are a kid.  My husband didn't learn until he was an adult and it was much more difficult for him.... Plus, as a kid you are much closer to the ground so falling isn't as big a deal!

Banana- Vail is AWESOME!  GREAT skiing there- how fabulous to be able to take a skiing lunch!!
