Dear Inconsiderate Buyer:
I understand that everyone is looking to save money and get competitive bids. I expect that and respect that. I just wish you would also respect my time.
First, I'd like to thank you for giving me the incorrect address to your new home. When I called to get the correct address...twice...you denied that there was a mistake. But, thank you, on the 3rd request for correcting your mistake.
Thank you for running late and calling every 20 minutes to tell me you need another 20 minutes. Thank you for starting the appointment 1 hour and 10 minutes late.
I also want to thank you for telling me it "wasn't worth my time" to even meet w/ you...after I had wasted 2 hrs in combo of driving there (and my return trip and waiting in the car) not to mention that I also has spent time and money on a lovely dinner in McDonald's...since it seemed that this was the only place I could park. Oh, and money for gas.
I felt badly for you because you clearly did not know what type of carpet you needed, and the previous person almost sold you the completely wrong carpet to you...one that would have been terrible for your allergies. I felt badly, so I spent time and educated you and gave you several options that would work for your health needed and your upcoming baby. I had several options that were all below your budget. This was a small job for me, but I wanted to help you out, and I was hoping that in a few years when you bought your own home, that you would become a repeat customer. And, I hoped that you would recommend me to your neighbors.
Thank you for wasting more of my time when you wanted to view the carpets in your lobby and then you stopped to chat and meet your new neighbors for 20 minutes while I just stood around. I stayed with you until 9pm, so thank you for that, too. Based on your feedback in finding a carpet that better met your needs and worked with your budget, it sounded like you were very pleased with everything. I provided you with outstanding references.
Thank you for wasting more of my time on Friday when you asked me to make changes to the estimate and for calling my assistant a few times and asking her to make inquiries with the manufacturer. I knew you were in a bit of rush, so gave you an expedient way of processing the order.
Thank you for calling me on a very busy Saturday and making me jump through hoops to see if I could install this by next Saturday. I called the manufacturer and was on hold for a while trying to get a definitive date of when the carpet would ship here, and I then called my installers twice begging them to free up Saturday for you. I then called you back to let you know I solved another issue for you. You then told me that you needed to confirm things with your husband and you would call back. We were in a rush and needed to place the order by 2:55pm before they closed at 3pm.
Thank you for hanging up on me at 2:15 and then not answering my call at 2:45. Thank you for the thoughtful text telling me "you can not sign the contract."
You know, there is a reason we are VERY BUSY. And, that is because we run a good business and our customers love us. We get lots of referrals and repeat business, and there is a reason for this. I really appreciate you taking up so much of my time these last 3 days. Today, I could have been following up with real customers who care and respect my time.
I hope next time, when you are working with someone, that you are more respectful of their time. I hope that you have learned from this experience for next time, and I hope that you forward this to all your friends, since I know there are many other time wasters out there, and many unsuspecting people like me who innocently try to help people like you.
Thank you for this important lesson. I am going to go with my gut more often and not work with people like you. I'm sorry I wasted so much of my valuable time trying to help you.

I had to get htis off my chest...This is follow up to my Thursday night post where I jumped through hops and problem solved for my customer who at first was disrespectful of my time, but then appeared to be very appreciative and she told she they would be a customer for life. This was not the outcome I expected since she was filling out all the paperwork yesterday.
I feel a bit better now.
