What a difference a week makes with foliage in the White mountains of NH.

By
Managing Real Estate Broker with Alpine Lakes Real Estate Inc., NHRE# 02863

Much of the east coast has seen torrential rains - accompanied by winds and cold nights. This is a foliage killer, it will all be on the ground in no time. The higher mountain peaks even had a bit of snow on them this morning when I woke up. Today's view from my living room window - much of the trees have gone bare since last week.

October 16th - still some color but much of the branches were blown bare over the last few days -Last week.

October 9th one week prior the leaves and their color were totally intact & vibrant for the Columbus day weekend

The First hint on Snow on the Mountain tops (above 4,000 Feet) will be next on the weather pattern...This means ski season is on it's way. Looking to buy or lease long term in the White mountains of New Hampshire give me a call...or use the MLS icon at the bottom of this post to search all area listing from your computer.

Steve...90% of our leaves are on the ground and I am picking them up already.  It was a very short color season here.

It happens fast when you're at that elevation.  Our winter has yet to come and I say keep it away.  it's been absolutely beautiful minus a brief snow storm about a week ago.  Other than that everything is still green and full of leaves!

Steve the rain has taken down some of our leaves before they turned.  Hopefully we will still have a colorful Fall.

The rain and wind this weekend alone did a number on the foliage down here in southern NH as well.  Like how you HAD to throw in the snow scene.  I sure your ready for it.

Steve, we are going to have a very short season as the past week's wind and rain have dropped a lot of the leaves. Your winter will be a lot warmer, however wearing that Craig Rutman, Happy Winner sweater.

Man, do you have some awesome views from your place! Weather's changing pretty fast here to in the Pacific Northwest. The changeup is here. One day windy rainy cold, the next sunny. Leaves are just beginning to turn, we're a little behind you guys. Love this time of year!

Steve, fall and winter are definitely my favorite time of the year.  Your area is gorgeous, it reminds me a little of spending time in Wisconsin during the fall and winter.

Add another congrats to winning Craig's Beatle Caption contest!!

Laura. it's tough down your way...you guys are going to skip foliage, by the time it starts to turn it going to be too cold to keep the leaves.

Nick...thanks it was nothing!!

Steve,

As usual WOW amazing colors and this was after much of it was gone?!  I cannot imagine being able to live around so much beauty all the time.  I can drive to the mountains here but you can simply step out your door and there it is.
