Southwest Michigan has a great deal of beautiful lakes of all sizes. Lakeside properties in Battle Creek, Michigan offer accessibility to the city along with quiet living. As an example of two very beautiful lakes, on the Southern end of the Battle Creek area is Sonoma Lake, and on the Northern end in Pennfield is Saint Mary’s lake.
These two lake neighborhoods are good examples of special homes comprising Lakeside properties in Battle Creek, Michigan. Some homes offer a better view than others, but all tend to focus on living around a lake. Many have docks, boat houses and even boat slips depending on the lake.
Some of the things that are important to consider when looking for lakeside property is what side of the lake you are looking at. There is sunrise side to the lake, and a sunset. One will be hotter than the other, at different times of the day. There are also ones in between.
Does the property offer shade trees around to sufficiently counteract the effect of the hot sun in the summertime if your deck is in direct exposure to the sunrise?
Another aspect to consider is whether the lake is an ‘All Sports’ lake or not. This will mean the difference between motor boats, jet skis and other noisy contraptions zooming around the lake in the summer time.
Also, is the lake private or public access? A private access all-sports lake may not create such a noisy condition, as in Sonoma Lake just South of Battle Creek, as the only ones allowed on the lake are lakeside residents. This can greatly reduce the traffic as a whole.
Another thing that happens in Michigan with lakeside properties is that popular fishing lakes become places ice fisherman set up shanties on during the heart of winter. Sometimes this is not an eyesore, but it can be if there are too many.
So there is a lot to consider with Lakeside properties in Battle Creek, Michigan. It is more than just the view you see when you are shown the house. Here is a video of one lakeside home I am currently listing for sale on St. Mary's Lake in Battle Creek, Michigan.
