Box.net vs Dropbox?

By
Real Estate Agent with Mark Ryan Group / Re/Max Victory

Box.net is giving away 50gig of free space right now if you sign up with your iPhone, iPod, etc...  I have been using Dropbox for years and love it but would love to hear any feedback and thoughts about box.net and how you are using it...  Either way it's a pretty good deal to get the free 50 gig from box.net so hope some of you enjoy the free tip...

Thanks for the tip. I've never tried box.net but will check it out!

Mark, wow 50 gig is generous. I have a Dropbox account and use it occasionally but I find flash drives work better for me. If I’m on  listing appointment or out showing hoses I don’t always have access to the “cloud.” A flash drive has never failed me yet. I know, old school :-)

I have a new Toshiba Thrive tablet that has a usb drive so I am using jump drives and Google cloud storage services.

I just blogged about how to get 2.25GB for free from Dropbox.  Add another 250MB for each friend who accepts your invitation to join Dropbox, too!

What is your data backup strategy?

Hi Mark,

Both Box.Net and Dropbox are excellent storage services.

In fact, you can use both Dropbox and Box.Net as a backup destination to backup all your data from other cloud services. For example, if you use Evernote and Sugarsync, it might good to backup all notes and files to either Box.Net or Dropbox.

So do check out cloudHQ (http://cloudHQ.net) - cloudHQ can backup and synchronize all your files from Box.Net, Dropbox, Google Docs, Evernote, SugarSync, and even Basecamp projects.
