Computor Monitor with ExpletiveIs it just me or do we all get those nasty little expletive responses from our lead capture pages found on our websites.  You know the ones where we politely ask them to register in order to continue receiving the FREE information they came looking for or so we can send them a report they decided they would like to read.  Obviously I can’t and won’t use those expletives that come across my screen on occasion but I think you get the gist.  I don't know about you but I get my little feelings hurt Hurt Feelings I mean I'm only asking them to provide a simple name, email address and maybe a phone number so I can get them the information, continue to give them FREE access or follow up to see how I can better assist them. Maybe they are very afraid I will somehow delve deep into their souls and discover who they really are or what kind of home they really want to buy or that they don't want to buy anything.  Or maybe they think I am a dark and scary Realtor wanting to pry cash right out of their hands. I have also had the epiphany on occasion that it’s actually my competitors seeing how I respond to my online leads. Give me a break!  What is wrong with these pin heads, if they don't want to share there name and email great don’t or send a bogus one like 123@aol.com, I don't care but grow up and don’t  send me some tacky little name and email address you learned in the 5th grade.  Or maybe that is exactly the level of mentality these barnyard buffoons are afflicted with.

So how do you handle the bogus and expletive online leads?  I know I just want to pinch their little expletive heads off!   Ahh I feel better now, that is My 2 cents on Expletive@expletive.com

John, I think you are really upset about this :). I'm sure it's not personal; well, maybe it is but they are just silly people that think maybe we are a branch of the CIA/FBI whatever so they don't want to give us their "real" info.

John, too funny. You on a rant. I love it. Yes they need their little heads pinced off and I love the comment below.....we do get our feelings hurt. David and I worked for Zip Realty for about six months before we figure out that the small print (that we don't remember reading) would result in a business proposition that would be hard at best and impossible most likely. Anyway....they are a lead generated company with a big search engine for Buyers offering Sellers a 1% discount on listings. The buyer also get a 1% discount when they buy (small print....comes out of the Agent's commission). Anyway, you get a territory and all the leads off that area. So we learned all about lead generation and bizarre behavior. No it is not reasonable for people to use your resources and not be respectful. That is why I love blogging. It is not a cold lead or a lead that won't even give you their real name. A blog lead calls you up and says....."Will you list my home?" or "You have a listing at 123 Home Place" will you help us buy it. Leads......I work every one and I only turn about 5%. I still work them. This was well done and I enjoyed reading about this frustrating aspect of our business with sweet humor!

Hi Rosalie,  Thank you for dropping in, I suppose it may be how we set up the lead capture, I have played around with mine various ways.  What I do is give them the information free for a few click through's then ask for the name and email.  I am sure it just ticks them off! But If I just continue to give it all away free what kind of lead generator is that? I'm a just a free give it all away site.  No easy answer I suppose.  Good to see you!

Hi Brett,  Maybe that is the issue as I replied to Rosalie above, thy start getting the info then I ask for that info. Instead of just moving on as you say they decided to be abusive in their frustration.  Its still free I just want to be able to thank them for coming by and follow up from time to time.  Maybe its a business model I should revise.  Thanks for sharing, it all helps!

Marco,  If these people knew just how sensitive and hurt I really am they would stop doing this..LOL.  NOT!  They're just punks and imbeciles, I could care less.  I am just venting and I do move on immediately!  And Marco you are right I would not want to meet or work with them..Great Point!

Morning Toni,  That's what I am thinking too, were running an undercover operative that will reveal they are looking at Million dollar homes when they can only afford $250K.  I don't care, I do the same thing..oh I guess that's cause I'm a Realtor :>)  Anyway, I don't beat them up or harass them.  Just a follow up now and then to what their interest are.  It's humanity, I get it!  Make it a great day!

Hi Janean,  You get it!  Yes, I was and am on a rant! I know the reason the reason they give me those bogus emails and nasty ones.

1. They just don't want me to know who they are period.  I get it!

2. They don't want me calling them, or emailing them anything..even if its a simple thank you! Fine I get it!

3. They will give me there info when they are ready. Perfect, I am so ok with that!

4. Its the ones that insist on being fowl about it.  Good grief I'm just trying to run a business and provide services.  Those are the ones I don't get!

Those of us that have worked thousands of internet leads know that much of what we receive will be garbage.  In my office, we have a special status indicator:  FIDO.

If you are not familiar with FIDO, it means Forget It, Drive On.  It is not productive to spend any time getting upset about these non-prospects.  We need to focus our efforts on those that respond to our offers of assistance.

Oh yes I have have a long and lasting string of this type of unwanted emails.  I am actually surprised that most everyone else is not getting hit with the same unwanted stuff.  Odd????   You're right good ole Judi is going to be hard to top!  Brought a big LOL at the office!
