Virtual Tours For Insurance Purposes?

Ever thought about using virtual tours for insurance purposes?  With the devastating fires in California, I heard on the news for the people who lost their homes and the contents they are required to fill out endless amounts of paperwork to account for EVERYTHING (down to what was in their drawers) they lost in the fire.  Maybe that's where a virtual tour comes in.  Our down-loadable tours can be copied to a CD and stored in a fire proof safe or maybe in your file with your insurance company.  At least, it would be piece of mind for the large items in a home.  I'm sure with everything those people have been through, it's hard enough to remember their names let alone all the items in their homes.  Anyway, just something to think about....

If there are any home insurance salespeople/realtors out there, is this a legitimate idea?  I wouldn't want to mislead anyone who might want a tour for insurance purposes.  Would the tour be useable if there were some unforseen circumstances that might happen where the homeowner would have to prove what contents they had?  Hope that makes sense....

Hmmm...I think this is a fabulous idea....maybe an untapped market!  Awesome way to think outside the box.

Hi Alicia,

RTV has had marketing material specific to insurance documentation tours in our marketing section for quite some time. In fact, we have recently updated them with a new look for 2008! Check out the marketing materials tab in the marketing section to download! (for those of you interested, yes this is the members only section) There are some other ideas in there also, so take some time and sort through the marketing material available! There are many HOT new items!

I agree with the concept of using the VT for insurance.  I came up with a marketing piece to hand out to people, but was also wondering what an insurance professional would think.
