It is incomprehensible to me that 545 members of Congress have such a horrific job of running this America that we are now in our current state of affairs. If their performance was graded there would be no grade low enough. Is there the equivalent, but opposite number to a google? There gross absurdities, gross negligence and criminal activity not only goes unpunished, they reward themselves and who is even more incomprehensible we ALLOW it and rewarded them for their treason. The real morons are the American voters, who not only don't any of the issues, but vote as if the process is a popularity contest. Consequently, they keep voting for the same traitors year after year. Seems to follow the classic definition of insanity, "doing thesame thing over and over and expecting a different result".

I would love to see them have to take and pass a drug test before they could vote. I think this would help make them more accountable...and they should be tossed out if they don't pay child support, taxes or keep their bills current...just my .02

How would you be different if you were one of the 545? Keep in mind that you would have made certain commitments to the special interests that financed your victory. Of course, you could have lied to them and are really different than the candidate you represented yourself to be.
Our system is flawed, and there is no group of 545 who will ever occupy those seats and act differently. The brightest and the best know not to run for office. I don't see that changing in the next couple decades.

E.J. makes a good point but I'm still hopeful that there are still enough sane people left out here to clean out some of these mentally ill politicians in the next election. Liberalism is a mental disorder. Anyone thinking differently should look closely at clips of Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reed, Barney Frank, and so many others.

Doug, I hate to sound like I'm defending a political philosophy, and I am not doing that. However, the lunatic fringe makes the most noise, and it has within its ranks mentally ill people from all sides of the fence. What makes the difference is that whoever currently has the ball is more visible. Taken to their extremes, all political philosophies are mental disorders.
