How much “veldt” do you have?

Well it looks like the jokes and one liner(s) are over for a few days.  We’re back to wordsmith here on AR.   The veldt here is going away but at a slower rate than elsewhere in the States.  Once prized by everyone other than for a few die hard it is vanishing and with it goes part of the American history.  Of course it will remain in all the States but not like it was in the1800’s or early 1900’s.  The meaning of (velt) is open grassy country, grassland.  With farmers getting more crops out of less and less land the land not needed is being sold off due to the expanding population.

Good morning, James. And so it goes. But still, I wonder about all these "genetically engineered" crops we're consuming...

Hi James ,

There is a lot of "Veldt" in Arkansas. And Rob has a lot of it in his shots of the Bristol area.

Here we have a lot of "Veldt" just not the grass to go with it. LOL

Have a good day my man.

Best, Clint Mckie

The Spanish word for that is VEGA.

Remember the Vega car?  Now we don't have the Vega, but we have the Volt.  Is that the new Veldt?

Love the word of the day..great lessons for this non-English major! Veldt sounds German or Scandinavian - guess I will look it up!

James, We still have a little veldt, and the state is doing a fairly good job of keeping it that way.
