How To Check A Realtor's License In California

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Lazarus Realty

If you want to check a Realtor's license status in the state of California, its easy.

Go to http://www.dre.ca.gov/

Then go down to where it says consumers and click the link which will take you this page.

then go to where it says License Status Check and click Real Estate Salesperson, Broker or Corporation which takes you to this page.

then go to the line that says: Click here to check the status of a real estate salesperson, broker, or corporation. which takes you to here.

Then just type in the licensee's name or the broker's name depending on what you are looking for (being sure to use the required format - Last Name, First)  and the status of the Agent or Broker will come up. If you have trouble trying to check a license just give me a call and I will walk you through it. The other day I received a very poorly written offer. It looked to me like the agent was not up to snuff on how to fill out a C.A.R contract (which, in case you dont know, stands for California Association or Realtors) so I decided to look up his license and saw that he had a restricted license. If you find that your Agent or Broker has a restricted license you might want to find out what they did that caused their license to become restricted.
