Sometimes you save more than you know! My New Fish!

By

Sometimes in the world of distressed sales you are trying to save the day.... at least it feels that way.  Yesterday I saved some fish.

The real estate world has not always been kind to critters in the last few years, and I have seen some things in empty homes that are best left unsaid.    Yesterday; it was different.

I had received a lead from an appraiser friend of mine regarding a child care center that had been lost to foreclosure.  Upon stepping into the location you could tell that the owner took care of their business and probably tried to the very end financially before they lost the property.

In the corner was a large aquarium, half full of water and not too clean.  I caught some movement and went investigate, there in the tank with no food or power were five little fish.    This time.... I could not leave... I had to fix this.  I have not been a fish owner for over 30 years, but off I drove to the nearest store to find some way to transport these little guys.    An hour later, they were loaded up into a pickle jar (still in the building) and I had obtained a small desktop aquarium.  Now safely at home on my desk, with regular feedings, light and heater.... I feel like I have done some small justice in the world of distressed homes.

They make me smile.

Cathy, what a great fish story! And yes, pets of all kinds are suffering. I just watched a news story about a dog and cat left in an apartment by the former tenant. The owner of the building has been taking care of them, but they need homes!

You did good!

Gary, John and Andrea;  In my world of daily short sales, It has been a very pleasant distraction.  They have perked up, are eating well and just being normal little fish.

Alan, they have gone from fortunate to fat and happy.   Now, I think two of them are expecting babies!  I think I need a bigger tank.
