Are those "old timey" stuctures some sort of dam control???  The picture looks like it belongs in Europe somewhere instead of St. Louis.

Hi Dan, Gary, Kevin, Sue, Charles and Keith!  Thanks for the comments.  These are actually old water intake towers that provided water to the city of St. Louis years ago.  They are just south of the old Chain of Rocks Bridge.  They do look like something one would see in Europe, not St. Louis, Missouri.
