Tacoma Parks Set for Halloween. They have set up several activities to reach a large cross section of the community.
The Black Cat Run (5 mile fun run, and 2.5 family dash) will take place at 7 pm on October 22 at Point Defiance Park. Since the run on the park's Five Mile Drive will be in the dark, you are encouraged to bring a flashlight or headlamp with you. For competitive people, there will be a timed race including: chips for timing, T-shirt and glowsticks (entry fee is $35.) Non-competitors and walkers are also welcome to come on out.
They are also hosting a "Street of Screams" at the Center at Norpoint on Oct. 28 from 5:30-7:30 pm.
For those who want to toss in some history with their Halloween - you are invited to "Bonfires, Beeaver Pelts and Bogeymen" on Oct. 28 & 29 at the Fort Nisqually Living History Museum (within Point Defiance Park.) It runs from 7 -9 pm both nights. The cost is $3-5 depending on age.
Enjoy your end of October activities!
