Wild Edible and Medicinal Plants of the Dunes, Humboldt County, California at the Humboldt Coastal Nature Center!

Join botanist, herbalist, and educator Allison Poklemba for a Wild Edible and Medicinal Plants of the Dunes Workshop on Sunday, October 23, from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.

Plant identification, harvesting techniques, and usage for food, medicine, and fun discussed.

First half spent harvesting from a variety of habitat types; the second half preparations and edible treats are made.

Please bring clippers or kitchen shears, a pint-sized mason jar, and a mug. Wear sturdy shoes and dress to spend time outside rain or shine.

This class is appropriate for people with both beginning and advanced levels of botanical knowledge.

Costs $20 for members and $25 for non-members.

Now this would be a good class to attend if to do nothing else but learn about natural plants and health. I personally would want to attend. Let us know about what you learned if you get the opportunity to attend.

We are going to visit my cousin who I have not seen in say 30 years and I am unsure if we will have an internet connection. we will be back late Tuesday. Leave early flight tomorrow. She lives in LA but we are staying on Catalina Island for the weekend and until Tuesday mid afternoon. Should be fun as her daughter has a band and is playing at the Jazz festival on the island. You folks take care and have areally nice and fun weekend my friend..
