Autumn in Hershey's Mill, Chester County

Hersheys Mill Main Gate EntranceHershey's Mill is one of the loveliest over 55 communities in the area. It's not the newest, most homes do not have 9 foot ceilings and 42 inch cabinets.   What it does have is location.  Located in East Goshen, one of the loveliest townships in Chester County, a hop skip and jump from the 202 and Boot Road entrance, you are about 45 minutes or less to the Philadelphia Airport and 15 minutes or less to Exton Mall.  The neighborhood is adjacent to a shopping center that sports a large food store, a pharmacy, a hair salon, two eateries, a dry cleaner and a bank!  And let's not forget Hershey's Mill Golf Club, which is a private 72 par gold course.  The community landscaping is one of the prettiest around and whomever is in charge of it should take a bow.  Every season is highlighted by gorgeous color and it's a real treat to drive around and show homes there.  A huge variety of styles and price ranges make it affordable for every budget.

Some of the amenities available to residents are security with the gate manned 24/7.  A large community center that sports a conference area, meeting rooms, billiards and a library.  Tennis courts, swimming, walking trails and beautiful landscaping.  You can choose to be as active or inactive as you'd like as there are clubs and festivities throughout the year.

Here is Hersehy's Mill showing off some fall colors.  I think you'll find the fun and community feel as welcoming as I do whenever I drive through.

The leaves are turning at Hersheys Mill

I especially enjoy seeing how the community comes together to decorate for each season.  Here are just some of the Autumn decorations.

Some of the Villages get their groove on!

Susan, This sounds like a wonderful community. Active adult communities are very popular in Bucks Montgomery counties. I am sure it is the same in Chester County.

Those Mums look beautiful in Hershey's Mill Susan, and what a lovely community to live in particularly in Fall.

Susan,

It looks like you're ahead of us with the leaves turning. We're about another week away.

Susan - I don't understand it, but the beautiful oak across the street which can be absolutely breathtaking has turned and dumped without its usual flamboyance.  Our own oak trees are still holding most of their leaves.  And, the autumn has been most disappointing for color with many trees still being green and others just "done".  Weird.

Susan: The 55+ community has a lot of choices to consider in the counties surrounding Philadelphia. Traditional floor plans, open floor plans, beautiful surroundings, convenient amenities, lots of cultural and social activities, etc. It's no wonder many 55+ buyers choose to remain in the area, close to children, grandchildren and all that they love.

Hershey's Mill has a wonderful reputation as a well built, well maintained, welcoming community for buyers to consider.

Wonderful post!

Gita, as Chester County ages, they are becoming even more popular.  Most, however, are in the western part of the county. Hershey's Mill is much closer to the main line area.

Gary, it's a really nicely landscaped spot.

Rich, this post got away from me, so I'm guessing you are in the leaf changing stage now!

Hi Suzanne!  I wonder why?  Maybe too much rain or too little this year?

Anne, thank you for this thoughtful comment.  Because of the location, a lot of Philadelphia Main Line people retire to Hershey's Mill for just the reasons you state.
