Riverbend Park, Smithville, Texas, Great park!

As you travel from Bastrop towards LaGrange on Hwy 71 you will literally cross over one of the nicests parks I have visited yet, in Smithville,   Riverbend Park.  This park has a lot to offer with huge stately oak trees standing over big manicured lawns, a playground,  picnic facilities, volleyball court(s),  an arena, a huge pavilillion area with lots of vendors booths and covered stages ( where the annual Smithville Jamboree is held) , fishing dock, and RV sites tucked away in a private spot towards the back of the park by the river.   You can also pitch a tent, or launch your kayak or canoe.
