Grand Rapids September 2007 Home Market Analysis

Real Estate Broker/Owner with Towne Square Real Estate LLC

September brought in the lowest sales numbers to date in the last 4 years, topping out at 877.  Additionally, 28% of these sales (247 homes) were swallowed up by foreclosure and short sale status listings.  This is putting greater pressure on current home sellers to be competitive against this niche market.  Buyers are continuing to realize their edge in obtaining fantastic home deals in the Grand Rapids, Michigan area.

It's important for home sellers to analyze their market with their agent, get all the information and statistics possible to make an educated decision on pricing and presentation.

Thank you for the comprehensive market analysis on our house in Jenison. Although median home prices are currently soft, we are confident that you have positioned our home to "GET IT SOLD". It's rare to find a realtor that will gather, compile, and distil the current market data to maximize a listing. Most realtors just take the listing and wait......... wait............and wait for a potential buyer. In this information age, knowledge wins, and I know that we are well positioned. I look forward to the equity gain we will realize when we buy our next home during this correction. The smart money is buying now! Thanks.

Dear Jim,

Thank you for your comments.  I'm so glad to hear you felt you were provided with vital information that assisted you and I in making a good decision re: pricing of your home.  I trust in short order we will have a purchase agreement.  It is a pleasure working with you, and your wife seems nice as well.   Congratulations on your new baby; I hear he is a piece of pumpkin pie.   I look forward to meeting him sometime.  Thanks again for everything!
