dark hardwood floors westchester NYIt's a great time to buy flooring for your home in Westchester County...Let me count the ways.

Thankfully, we have been super busy, and many customers have been coming out of the woodworks lately.  We've gotten many calls from customers from 1- 2 yrs ago and yes, they are finally ready to buy their floors. It's very exciting.

Some of them have needed time to save up the money; others have recently refinanced and now have some extra money on hand to do the much needed and desired improvements to their homes.

It's a wonderful time to improve your Westchester Home.

First, prices are incredibly reasonable right now.  Because the demand has been a bit more limited these last few years and because homeowners are getting multiple bids, most prices are competitive in the market place - both on material and labor.

Second, some companies are willing to work with you to help you save money. For example, some of my customers ask how much they can save if they do some of the work themselves such as ripping up the carpet or moving the furniture themselves.  These are items that some homeowners can easily do themselves and they do not require professional skills.

Third, the gap in pricing between hardwood and carpet continues to decrease.  So, if you are looking to trade up to hardwood flooring from carpet, it's the perfect time.

So, if you are on the fence about your flooring, hop off it.  Now, is a wonderful time to buy flooring.  You'll feel great about the impact it has on your home...it's amazing how much a difference it can make.  You'll get to enjoy your purchase sooner, and you will definitely be improving the value of your home which will help you if you are selling 2 yrs from now or 20 yrs from now.

Debbie - "Clients having been coming out of the woodworks lately" - lol! While I'm so happy to hear you're so busy (that's great), I hope you're taking a little time to get some R&R! It's amazing how what we do today brings us business down the road, even a year or two later!

Debbie, Sounds like there's a good window of opportunity to save some dollars and still get high quality work done.  We've done similar in the past as far as self-work to cut some dollars.  Ripping up the old carpet, or for our bathroom tile remodels, ripping down the old tile and drywall to the studs.  Hard work true, but cuts off the overall bill.  Bill

Kristine - yes, it's so true...and it means I need to think about my follow up differently, too.

Judy - - Thank you.  I really appreciate that.

Bliz - Yes, exactly.  In many cases, demo can be done by anybody.  but, I would warn those not mechanically inclined to stay clear of the bathrooms, as I've known some to do some serious damage there, especially with plaster walls.  I'd rather see somone be able to afford their flooring by doing some of the prep work themselves vs. not do the job at all.
