Today our youngest daughter, Megan, is celebrating her 23rd birthday. It is amazing how quickly these last 23 years have gone. I was a pastor when Megan was born. I had created back up plans for 3 consecutive Sunday's in preparation for her birth. Each of the three Sunday's came an went with Megan being 10 days late. I was tired of creating contigency plans, knowing the chances of her being born the following Sunday were actually pretty small. Well, you can guess, my wife went into labor very early Sunday morning, October 23, 1988. So between contractions beginning at 7 a.m., I began making phone calls from the delivery room. I needed someone to take my place for the junior high Sunday School class.
Megan has grown into a wonderful young adult. She is caring, sensitive, and responsible. Having graduated from Ursinus College in the spring and spent the summer working at a KOA campground near Mt. Rushmore. This fall she has been an assistant coach with the Ursinus Field Hockey team. Within the next month she will move home and look for more permanent.
Thank God for Megan and the blessing she has been to our family.
