What Has Two Thumbs And A CA Broker's License?

THIS GUY!!!

Ca's Newest Broker

As many of you know, I started working towards my CA Broker License last December. After 8 years as an appraiser, I decided that obtaining my broker license would be the best way to further my career as a real estate professional.

I began taking the coursework, studying diligently and learning as much as I could from as many sources as I could, including AR! I was learning far more than I anticipated, after all I though I knew everything :)

About 2 weeks ago I sat down to take the broker test and after the 2.5 hour morning session I was not feeling all that confident. Withing a few minutes of starting the 2.5 hour afternoon session though, I was feeling much better. After a few days of nail biting anticipation I received my letter from the DRE that I was among CA's newest brokers!

I want to note that I was also very fortunate to find a great mentor to work with in Christine Donovan. Christine is one of Orange County's smartest brokers. As well as being a seasoned, professional broker, she is also an attorney (business/contract disputes not RE attorney). I will be continuing to work alongside Christine and hope to provide as much value to her in the future as she has provided to me over the last year.

I plan on focusing on cash flow investment properties in Orange County and anticipate that my experience as an appraiser will be instrumental in quickly assessing property values, analyzing cash flow opportunies, and helping my clients to realize their investment goals.

Now I just need to figure out the best way to post HTML on AR and I will consider myself quite the accomplished person!

Pam-I am very glad (and releived) to have passed on my first try.

James-Agreed. There is so much out there to learn about, and thankfully so many people here and other places that are willing to share their knowledge.

Congratulations!  That is great.  I got my Broker's license too over the summer.  It does feel good to pass the first time.  It is not an easy test.

Andrew, did you take the photo yourself, then run and get in front of the lens? I as an appraiser for many years. In this climate I can see why you might want to get a Broker's license. Good job... congratulations
