One of the great things about living in the Austin area is the preponderance of parks. Champions Park is a new 33-acre park in the Round Rock/Cedar Park area near Brushy Creek Rd. and Parmer Lane that is now open to the public. The park runs along-side the Williamson County Regional Trail that is a great place to run, walk or bike. The new park was named after the Champion family that used to own the land. The family cemetary is located in the park and the former Williamson County Sheriff John Champion is buried there. One of the agents in my office is related to the Champion family and went to the ribbon cutting recently. Get out and enjoy this GREAT weather we are having and check out the new park!
