Steve Jobs was a celebrated marketer. “I would say that marketing was his greatest strength,” said Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple. The current issue of Advertising Age includes an interesting article about how Steve Jobs approached marketing.
“Steve not only liked advertising, he understood the value of advertising in building a brand, selling products, and creating an entire customer experience,” said Allen Olivo, Berkeley professor and former Apple marketer.
Although Jobs was a technology visionary, he took a traditional approach to marketing. That’s because Jobs believed in telling Apple’s story, which he thought could be done best through traditional media, such as magazines.
