How's the real estate market doing on the Peninsula and in Silicon Valley?

That's a common question, and people really want to know. The word is finally getting out that real estate really IS local.

As you can see from the charts below, single-family homes are selling, the average days on market are not long, and they sell quite close to the asking price.

The Silicon Valley cities of Palo Alto, Mountain View, Sunnyvale and Cupertino are especially strong - high tech is growing. Things are a bit slower in the San Mateo County cities of Belmont, San Carlos, Redwood City and Menlo Park, but very respectable nonetheless.

If you'd like to know more, or interested in the condo/townhouse market, drop me a note.

If I'm reading the charts correctly Palo Alto, Mountain View, Sunnyvale and Cupertino are getting full or above asking price in 33 days or less (on average)... sweet. The local real estate community must be very happy. Continued success.

The market is where the jobs are.  Your area has the best paying jobs from almost anywhere in the country with a much better quality of life as well.  Thanks for the good news.

Hi Nancy - you're right--Silicon Valley real estate is in high demand; there's 'boomlet' in high tech which helps the housing market considerably. The San Mateo County cities shown (midway between San Francisco and San Jose) are doing fine, too. Thanks for stopping by, and for your good wishes.

Doug, you're absolutely right. The Silicon Valley is adding jobs, and San Francisco isn't too far behind. That, plus the fact that there's little buildable land on the Peninsula helps keep our housing in demand.
