Okay, I know this may be controversial, but I am a registered Republican. I normally vote Republican, but tend to be on the more moderate side. I really do not agree entirely with either the Republican or the Democrat platform. I am Jewish so I do not like the whole Conservative Republican platform, but realize the Conservatives are an intergal part of getting a Republican into the Presidency. So I want to know why you would vote for Hillary Clinton, and why you would not vote for her? Please educate me as I am an undecided leaning towards Rudy Giuliani. Searching for great deals in Boca Raton
David:
You know what is funny. When Bill Clinton was elected president, it was very hard to find anyone who voted for him. Hmmm..........
Um...she dug her grave the other nite...did you re-do her pic...or is that 20 years old...must have been air brushed...she's done...
I'm liking Huckabee...google him...he's good...
Bill, LOL
John W. she is only, what Bill (husband) says she is...in public that is....we will leave the rest alone...
David, very interesting blog and colorful comments, too. We, unfortunately, live in an age where most of the comments are just talking points from Rush Limbaugh, some other radio host or newspaper. If I hear the same thing over and over I start to believe it and instead of thinking for myself, I use the words and slogans of a talk show host to help me say what I think I think.
If we think of Hillary Clinton as a positive, we see that she is intelligent, able to compete in a man's world and strong enough to be the first female president. And in this country with the present state-of-mind I don't envy her. Is she intimidating to you as a male or a female or is she as capable as any other candidate. Does she bring years of experience to the job or do you find her unattractive. What qualifications should we be looking for?
Was Guiliani an good or average politician before 9/11 and did this tragedy suddenly transform into a viable candidate. Is Mitt Romneys faith important. Are you more comfortable with a Mormon in the White House rather than a black man or a white woman. Do you believe the hype that all Democrats will raise taxes and that Republicans don't believe in big government.
Wouldn't it be nice if we voted on candidates based on their qualifications? Since this is where David started his query, yes, I would have no problem voting for Hillary and I would love to see her move us back to a time where we lead by example instead of intimidation.
Brian,
If you think Hillary sets a good example, you need take a look back. Hillary has no respect for others, look back at how she behaved during the Conventions. If she is nominated and we are following her example, we might as well just dig a hole now and jump in.
Brian, thank you very much to lending some insight into why you would vote for Hillary Clinton. I believe all the canidates have some issues that we may not like, but I guess you havt to prioritize those issues, and thta is how you choose to vote for that canidate.
I do however do not agree with the assessment of Hillary Clinton does not lead by intimidation because she most certainly does. I think she happens to be arrogant, and from my point of view she is more scary than George Bush in that she is intelligent. I am just tired of these families owning the whitehouse. I want someone who is not just going to say what we want to hear, but actually do something. I am not crazy about any of the canidates, but Hillary seems more like a "politician". She promises us that she is going to pass this great Health Care plan. She tried to do this when she was first lady, and she could not. She has too many socialist views, and when asked to hand over the first lady papers she said no. Is she hiding something? hmmmm. Plus anyone who doesn't sleep with their husband for over 10 years, I am not voting for her.
Thank you Keith for your comments. I want to hear from Hillary supporters. I can't talk about specifics about Hillary because she does not know where she stands on any issues. I actually like Obama as he seems real. He seems like he does want to change the country. I am all for change, but that does not include Hillary. The problem with republican or democrats is that they stick with their party. I do not. I am a registered Republican that would vote Democrat if I felt that the canidate was worthy of my vote. The reason I would not vote for Hillary is that she seems like she is above government. She seems very secretive, and like she is hiding something. She changes her views on everything from education to the war depending on who she is speaking in front of. We do not need this. We already have this. We have a Democratic Congress now, and they have yet to pass any kind of legislation. Nothing, Nada. History has told us that the country does not fair well when one party rules the presidency, and the Congress. I am leaning towards Rudy Giuliani, but I am not sold on him as of yet. I do like Bill Richardson as well, but he is never going to win the primary. The sad truth of the matter is that Hillary Clinton probably is going to be President. I want change, and I am tired of the Bush and Clinton families ruling our presidency. Why has Hillary Clinton refused to turn over the First Lady papers? Why did she refuse to turn over documents in the Rose Law firm scandal? She scares me.
OK - back to the question you actually asked. What are the reasons I would vote for Hills! The answer is simple - I'd want Bill back running the White House - and that wasn't a joke either! He has more than enough political clout to ensure that her advisers are listening to him. So if for some reason my brain had a meltdown and I decided to vote Democrat, I'd clearly want Bill back. He's probably their most successful President in modern times and talks a great game! *please imagine scratchy southern voice here* "I DID NOT HAVE SEX WITH THAT WOMAN". I think he might of been talking about Hills at the time! *lol*
Oh and David - the whole Jewish thing - I too was born Jewish and if you don't want to see 4 million Israelis nuked, then I suggest you forget about everything else and concentrate on which party is more likely to come to Israel's aid.
Rudy handling himself with dignity and poise. Yeah, he's our man, er woman. Give me a break.
I would never vote for her, she was disrespectful during the Presidential speaches, she is only running on her disgustingly disrespectful coat-tails...If she didn't want to be President, she would have divorced him by now....Oh then...they sleep with ....OK, won't finish that.
I don't think the world leaders have respect for her or Bill, WWIII if the dumb women vote her in (or dumb me)....SHE CANNOT THINK ON HER FEET! You don't think Bill is prompting her answers...If Billary get's in office, we can only hope if it's a Democrat, that Bill is calling the shots...Yikes! Monika, you might have to come back...(j/k)...who's going to entertain Bill...this is a mini-debacle in my opinion.
I'm a woman but Condi Rice would be a better choice...very well spoken, very smart, very knowledgable and loved by the Internationals. JMO now...
There isn't a snowballs chance in Phoenix I could ever vote for Hillary... the reasons NOT to are so voluminous they could fill a warehouse but mainly because she's a total fraud and a closet socialist (read the 6th paragraph).
She does not believe in a free market economy, she has no leadership skills, she's anti-military, anti-defense, pro-taxes, pro HUGE government, she's beyond weak where national security is concerned - she actually thinks we can negotiate with Tehran, she favors CAFTA/NAFTA which have been TOTAL disasters, two policies she's spoken publicly about (baby bonds/universal health care) would cost taxpayers hundreds of billions of dollars annually.
With that said, the Republican hopefuls make me nauseous as well. Giuliani is a not-so-closeted liberal RINO. Romney is just out of the question... Thompson, McCain, Paul and Keyes are all a joke. I like Duncan Hunter and can tolerate Huckabee.
Hillary is....

Thank you all for your comments.
Jesse & Kathy, you seem quite knowledgeable about politics and I thank you for all that information. It does not look like Huckabee or Hunter are going to be in the running however. I actually am a registered Republican, but I kind of like Bill Richardson, but I am probably voting for Giuliani because I strongly believe that there should not be a Democratic Congress, and a Democratic President.
