"Tarrytown's River Walk Park" has been completed and was officially dedicated recently. The park is an important segment of Westchester County's 51.5 mile long "Westchester County River Walk" which starts in Yonkers and ends in Peekskill. Almost 33 miles of the scenic walk and bike way along the Hudson River shores are now completed.
Tarrytown's River Walk Park will be another exciting destination for people seeking recreation and relaxation. Pedestrians and cyclists will have chances for social activities, including taking advantage of a number of outdoor "garden rooms" along the esplanade. Grass terraces and lawns in the park's center allow for sitting, lounging, picnicking, informal games, and viewing the majestic Hudson River and it's banks as well as the Tappan Zee bridge and the Manhattan skyline. In addition, there are also protected areas for reading or families with small children.
Together with the already excisting river side recreation areas in Tarrytown and neighboring Sleepy Hollow the entire water front is now accessible to the public.
