Getting buyers off the fence: Be Their Cheerleader!

One of the best things we can do to get our buyers off of the fence, we have actually already started doing…at least those who participated in the AR Good News challenge a few months back. Our bloggers reported a ton of good news.

We need to keep that up – being the reporters and bearers of the good news that is happening in our local real estate markets.

Be Your Real Estate Markets Cheerleader

Main stream media must sensationalize and look for the worst in every situation. That’s how they maintain their ratings and make their money. What they report is not going to help our case, so we have to do it ourselves.

In the age of the internet, we can and should be the real estate media to our prospects, clients, markets better than we who are on the front lines.

Yes, the economy is what it is, but every market has it’s own good news, as we proved here in the Rain. Buyers hear enough negative market news today. You can ease their uncertainty and fear by focusing on the good news. Yes, we’ll have to acknowledge the negative, but we alone can also talk to them about the opportunity, the benefits of homeownership, and how we will help them make the best real estate purchase now.

So, encourage the buyers, and congratulate them for taking advantage of the best buyer’s market of their lifetimes. Rah, Rah, Rah! Cheer them on!

Thank you for your blog. I liked how you mentioned that the media looks for the worst to report about in the real estate market.  I also think that there are some buyers who won't et off the fence and purchase because they loo for the worst and are afraid to take a step towards their new home!

Jill, the fear factor is a force to be reckoned with iin this current real esate environment. But if more of the public could read all of the good news posted here in the Rain, they's have a amore balanced picture on which to base a decision.  Thanks for the feedback.
