Please Help Those In Need | Support Feed the Need Campaign, Lewisburg, WV

By
Real Estate Agent WV0026375

"Feed the Need" canned food drive sponsored by the Greenbrier Valley Board of Realtors is underway!  The two Realtors who are running the  "Feed the Need" Campaign are Robert Bittinger and Keith Shaver of Coldwell Banker Stuart and Watts Real Estate Office, Lewisburg, WV.

Please Help Those In Need in our community.

local food pantryThe campaign started October 5, 2011 and continues until December 8, 2011 ... collecting canned food for our local food pantrys.

The community is asked to contact your local Realtor or real estate office and donate TODAY.  The donations can be dropped off at the Board office or any real estate office; or just call (304) 645-1242 for a pick up of your donation.

Did you know the world's first food bank was the St. Mary's Food Bank Alliance in Arizona, begun in 1967.

In 1965 John van Hengel while volunteering for a community dining room learned that grocery stores disposed of food that had damaged packaging or was near expiration. He started collecting that food for the dining room but soon had too much for that one program. He thought of creating a central location from which any agency can receive donations. With the help of St. Mary's Basilica, the first food bank was born.

Food banks quickly spread across the United States. By 1976, the precursor to Feeding America was established.

Please remember the holidays are near and

there are families who are in need.

Feed the Need is a worthy cause...no one should have to know the feeling of having no food and no prospects of getting any, especially in this country.

Rebecca, Great way to get the word out about this worthy cause. It's so easy to think of others and if everyone did even just a little, the effect would be amazing!

Hi Rebecca,

Food drives are so important for communities.  The cost of food is out of control and some families are really struggling just to put dinner on the table.  It is great to get the awareness out there.

Hi Rebecca -

What an awesome cause.  Feeding the ones less fortunate is such an important thing.  As humans we must take care of each other especially the little ones and the older ones.  I hope this under taking is a huge success!

Best regards from the Q

Very good reminder that all of us need to support our local food banks.  There families that need help in every community.

Have a great day and an outstanding week!  Be sure to have your camera in hand to capture those special moments.

Rebecca,  The need for help continues to expand.  Its a shame that so many people are unable to put food on their table ... if they even have a table. This is a great campaign by the Greenbrier Valley Board of Realtors ... what a great way to make a difference in the community.

Rebecca, you do a marvelous job of getting the word out on local (and fun) fundraisers, or events for charity. You big smile tells a lot about your spirit, and you follow it up with supporting your community. You can never have enough free advertising when you're a non-profit.

I hope your community appreciates you!
