Activity is Picking Up in October

I don't know if you are experiencing the same thing, but activity in the Falmouth, MA (upper Cape Cod) area has picked up substantially in October. After a slow summer where buyers looked but didn't act and many sellers were holding fast on their higher listing prices, it seems that many buyers have decided to act and the sellers are more willing to negotiate. Since we all know that a house that is priced right will sell, this is good news for the housing market on Cape Cod.

What is happening in your market area?

Here's a sample of great year-round retreats that are available. This renovated home is located on a wooded site, has three bedrooms, and is less than 3/10 of a mile to a fresh water beach. The asking price is $265,900. In 2005 there were no homes in Falmouth for less than $300,000 and today there are 54. See this house at www.49happyhollow.com.

Steve, it's only anecdotal, but I feel like things have been getting busier recently in Lancaster County, PA...

We have definitely seen an increase in activity over the past six weeks. Traditionally things slow down at Thanksgiving, however, so this may be a short-lived rally.
