There are PLENTY of listings in
our MLS claiming to be Horse Farms For Sale. After looking at some of them it got me thinking...what exactly does it require to be called a "Horse Farm"?
Does it require the huge beautiful farm house, with miles and miles of white fencing surrounding the property? Does it require acres and acres of flat to gently rolling land? Or is it the fabulous barn with stall after stall to house those beautiful animals? Well I guess that all depends on which part of the country your from, your financial position and how many horses you have.
I have learned a few things in showing horse properties that I find very interesting. First and foremost...no barbed wire! Don't even consider it! Second, It takes a specific amount of land per horse.
But the one that I find so interesting is The Facilities...The Barn. The housing for the horses is more important than the housing for the family. Most of the time when I get calls looking for horse farms in my area, this is what I hear...it really doesn't matter about the house, we just want to make sure the barn is in good shape. I LOVE the fact that horse lovers are truly Horse Lovers.
I'm not sure exactly what is required to be called a horse farm.... but those horse lovers do!
