Did you Happen to Notice???

I started on Active Rain the summer of 2009.  Balloons Celebrating

I wrote a couple of blogs...but didn't really know what I was doing....

In February of 2010 I got a bit more serious with my blogging...

I created some really good habits...and have been pretty consistently blogging every week...usually every day....

Some weeks were easier than other and more consistent.  

I have participated in quite a few contests and challenges to help my blogging...

I slowly moved up in the rankings based on points for my state....

I passed over all those in Nampa Idaho and in Canyon County...the top state position remained elusive..

I am not sure why ...but a few active bloggers dropped out of the picture this year.....so there only remained one ahead of me....and Janna Rankin Scharf was very active...

 

In September of this year I pulled slightly ahead.....and then she pulled back a head of me...

All during September and October we have been pretty close...

But I think I can safely say that I am in the number one slot for the State of Idaho for the time being anyways...

It was a hard fought race to the top.....Janna really challenged me these past few months.

Because of some challenges I was able to pull ahead by about 10k points

Blogging has brought me business...I will be taking another listing next week because of a blog I wrote earlier this year....you never know who is reading the blogs!  

Thanks Active Rain for providing such a wonderful platform to lead generate...

I love the camaraderie....the business promotion...the points...and just about everything about Active Rain and blogging!!!

I managed to get to number 20 within a little over a year.  Not bad for someone who didn't write more than 10 posts in the first six months.  I have only had one client from it so far, but I do enjoy it.

Congratulations!  We just started on Active Rain a month ago but have actively blogged on our own site for over a year so able to incorporate those blogs now.  Moving up the rankings fast--but those top 3 spots in our state (Georgia) will take awhile to break into!  My goal is to be #1 in my town by the end of the year, but I'll need over 130K points to do it.

Deborah:  I'm glad you had someone to chase....I'm doing the same thing but haven't revealed to that person she's in my sights!  Think I'll just sneak up on her..it will take some effort as she is a prolific blogger.  Keep writing, keep acquiring clients the AR way.

Deborah, congratulations for your persistence and dedication.. again and again the A/R testimonials reveal nearly everyone struggles at first, but by thoughtful persistence suddenly find themselves "in-the-zone". Me? I'm still in struggle mode to become consistent, but you guys who have struggled through and come out the other side are always an inspiration.

Doug...it seems like a good cushion but I know that it will take committment to stay the course or it will shrink!  LOL
