They Breached Their Contract!

Real Estate Agent with BlueCoast Realty Corporation

When the financial industry chose self-interest over the nation’s financial stability, they breached their contract with America.  These institutions, guardians of the nation’s wealth, chose deceptive business practices as their prevalent business model.  They chose the wrong path as clearly as any other bank robber and are, as surely, felons.

That their greed was so self-consuming they were clueless to the national ramifications of their actions is both astonishing and frightening!   How can we ever regain America’s financial security if a core industry already acknowledged as “Too Big To Fail,” is so out of touch with reality they no longer recognize their inherent responsibility to the country?  How can it be that we allow them to be accountable only to themselves?

These financial institutions are not selling widgets, they’re trading the assets of a people – the American people!!

Bev -- You make an excellent point.  How can they be "to big to fail" when they already failed?

The Canadian banks would have followed suit, but government regulations prevented them.

Kristen, Yes, when one thinks about how much damage the banks have done in such a short period of time.

Steve, we know what needs to be done.  All we are missing is the will to make it happen!

Bill, I have to believe we can fix it, that all we need is the will to do it.  You too, have a fabulous weekend!!

Brian, I did a bit of research on that and reached the conclusion the Canadians are more concerned with stability than lack of regulation.  I don't think their structure is so different from ours but their mindset is very different.  Our mindset used to be different too.  What I just cannot get my mind around is why we aren't all screaming for regulation!   Please God, put the regulations in place that will prevent this from happening to the country again.  Unfortunately, God isn't going to do it for us.  We've all got to make that happen before we are facing another bailout.
