Home Staging Tips: Make your Master Bath Irresistible to Buyers

By
Home Stager with Room Solutions Staging, Portland OR

When your home is on the market, every room should be appealing to buyers.  But there's something about a Master Bathroom that can really help buyers make an emotional connection with a home, so today's home staging tip for sellers is all about the bathroom.

Whether your bathroom is large or small, you can add elements that will make it a light, bright, spa-like oasis for relaxation.  Here's a master bath in Portland OR that we staged recently to bring it up a notch by making just a few small changes in decor -- no cosmetic or structural changes were needed.  Here's how the bathroom in this home for sale looked Before staging: portland oregon home staging

and here's how it looked After we added spa accents (fluffly white towels, plants, shells, spa accessories, art with a botanical theme, natural-textured basket) house staging portland oregon

A few more Before & After photos of this master bathroom:

Here's a few home staging tips for staging a master bathroom:

  • Always start with squeaky-clean surfaces & fixtures
  • Make the most of natural light (remove fussy window coverings)
  • Add products with natural elements:  textured baskets, seashells, plants (they don't have to be real for staging)
  • Use spa products that will remind buyers this is an oasis of relaxation
  • Use wall art with a relaxing theme
  • Fluffy white towels are usually more calming than brightly colored ones

These are simple things that anyone can do -- but if you need help, remember to contact your local professional home stager. We can do all the staging for you, or we can suggest where you can buy any needed items to give your Master Bath a "tweak" so that it stands out in the minds of potential buyers.

Maureen, you really brought this bath up a notch. Looks like the homeowner tried a little bit of staging but the professional touches you made really cinched it. Beautiful!

Hi Judy ~ It was "lightly staged" by the seller, but once they moved out it then needed full staging.  Thanks for stopping!

HI Maureen, fluffy white towels are a must when creating a spa like feel. Love what you did here. I'm not one for using the words around a  house, but here, you really did make someone feel like they could soak in the tub and dream of living there. Great work as always!

Isn't it funny how accessorizing to scale can make a room look even bigger?  Love the large orchids...they are hard to find.  Beautiful as always!

Maureen - I can't believe I missed this bathroom makeover! Only after your staging magic does this bathroom now have that "WOW" effect and show how beautiful it really is. You softened it and made it more spa like with all the natural elements you brought in, while still keeping a clean crisp look. Another fabulous staging job by Maureen Bray of Room Solutions in Portland Oregon!

Maureen- I was out of town and had limited access, but this is one of your best yet... from the "DREAM" used in the window to the perfect accessories, your staging definitely gave it the "spa" feel.

Love the "after" look Maureen. Those large orchids are amazing and I agree with the scale. I always think a few large accessories have SO much more impact than a lot of small ones.
Fluffy white towels rule!  Perfectly dreamy :)

A few well chosen 'larger' accents go a long way. love the orchids!! Beautiful work and photos...i love using spa products too!! White towels are a must...sometimes I roll up washcloths, towels, or hand towels and tie them with raffia to drive home the spa/nature inspired feel!

Hi Kathy ~ Thanks for that very nice compliment!  It's fun to stage such a nice bathroom ...

Hi Tessa ~ I so agree with you about using a few large items ... too many photos show small things that you can't even see.  Thanks so much for commenting.

Hi Christine ~ That spa look and feel makes the bath very inviting, you're right!  Thanks for the reblog too  :-)
