Well. the list could be lengthy here.   But we will start with the best.

Rstaurant Sign

Frankie & Johnny's Restaurant on Route One in Cape Neddick is favored by locals and those who aspire to be.

The Menu started as vegan many years ago.  Chef johnny and his wife Thea have not forgotten their roots and continue to offer great vegan dishes.  But the menu has expanded and meat and fish favorites, as well as truly wonderful pastas, continue to top the fare.  Johnny offers wonderful food and Thea offers entertaining conversation.

The ambiance and decor is casual.  Ok, a bit funky even.  The food is first class.  And that is what we locals come for.  Seriously, the best food in York.  Shhhhh.  Don't tell the tourists.

Portions are generous and the entrees include a soup or salad.  You cannot go wrong with either the house or caesar salad.  The varying soups are all delicious.  We honestly have never been served a dish that we did not like in all our years of dining here.  The favorites that top our list:  From the appetizers, the lobster truffle purses and mussels.  From the main dishes:  the Pork Delmonico is a wondrous thing as is the Chicken Picatta.

It is one of the few BYOB rstaurants in York which adds to the value.

Open Wednesday through Sunday.  Do call for reservations at 207-363-1909.  Oh, if your new, tell them Peggy Mitchell sent you.

I've never been to York, Margaret, but if I ever make it Frankie & Johnny's will be my first stop.

When I finally figured out what Hyper-Local posts were all about, I was trying to decide what to blog about. I thought, "Hmmm. I don't know much about real estate, but I DO know about eating." lol

I recently started posting blogs about my favorite local restaurants, too. The Google Juice is unbelievable! I posted my first one about 1:30 one afternoon. When I checked about four (4) hours later & Googled the restaurant, my blog was in the THIRD SPOT ON PAGE ONE of Google. Amazing.

So, good luck on your blogs. I hope some really great customers who love food find you and give you a call ;)

Hi Laura & Carole - I am a Feng Shui fan and so have read your blog.  I appreciate the "drop in"!

Hi Carlotta, a fellow coastal New Englander.  Newport is a gorgeous town and I have had some fabulous meals there, too.

Hi Margaret, I have only been to Maine once on vacation.  Went to Bar Harbor. We loved the food at all the places in Maine that we stopped.  I can't imagine what the Best would be like.  Yummy
