Living in Florida you can play baseball all year and our son certainly takes advantage of doing just that. He plays fall and spring Recreation Little League, the All Stars and The Wellington Colts Travel Team.
He neve touched a baseball or a bat until the spring of 2010. Baseball and our little one fit together.
He plays pitcher because he can pitch 8 to 12 pitches and get 3 outs in one inning.
He plays short stop because he can back up the pitcher and has the arm to throw to first VERY fast you can hear the ball swoosh across the field. All we need is the other team to hit to him and they are done.
He plays outfield again because he can throw that ball fast to get it back and he can catch. Rarely has he missed a fly ball.
He loves baseball. At first it seemed like such a chore to take him to his games ( he has a lot of games) and practices and Nestor is so awesome to do most of that with him however now it is like a stress release for us to go watch our son play baseball.
I did not like to play baseball when I was a kid and never liked to watch it all. It grows on you. The more I am a part of watching our son the more I enjoy the game.
I was looking at how much he has grown in just this short period of time in his ability to play and the maturity of his processing the game itself. Even though we have all the photos on our imac and on our mac time machine back up I had that yucky thought of how I would feel if I lost all these precious photos. So I started to upload them to Picasa and google photos in albums because in iCloud the images are saved for 30 days then pushed back to your computer.
So here are some of the photos of his growth in such a short time:
The very first time he played was on the Little League 'Indians' last spring :
Then it was fall baseball and he was on the Little League 'Riverdogs':
Back to spring again this year on the Little League 'Red Sox':
Then it was the All Stars in the hot summer:
Now it is the Wellington Colts Travel Team- here he bunted the ball and made a home run bunt! Sorry, the image is crappy. I don't know what happened to the camera when I was taking the photo. He is also one of the pitchers for the travel team.
And at the same time fall season on Little League 'Blue Jays': ( coming shortly;)
