The West Shore of Lake Tahoe is preparing to have a landmark decision handed down from the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency and the Placer County Supervisors who will be voting December 14 on a special development project for the Homewood Mountain Resort and Ski Area. Two basic interests are in conflict regarding the future of the project. On the one hand, the "Lake Tahoe Lakefront Home Owners", "The League To Save Lake Tahoe" and the "Sierra Club" often find themselves on the same side of the issue of preserving and saving Lake Tahoe from over development. On the other hand, local home and business owners believe further development of the area is critical to the sustainability and the economic viability of the Homewood Mountain Resort and the West Shore of Lake Tahoe. Stay tuned for updates regarding this significant land use battle!

It's always a battle between those who want to preserve the status quo since they arrived and those who want further development. Development usually wins doesn't it? As long as we keep producing more people, they're going to have to live somewhere.
