10/28/2011 Update... no new listings, 2 under contract, and no price reductions to speak of...

All the homes in this article are currently for sale within East Bethesda. The top of the list features the newest listings, while the bottom showcases those that have been on the market for quite some time. I'll be updating this post every Friday, so be sure to check back to see what's new, what's gone, & what might be coming (and check out the date up top... if it's not current, neither is this information!). I've lived in East Bethesda for over 16 years. I've sold real estate in East Bethesda for over 12 years. It's a wonderful neighborhood within walking distance of two metro stops AND downtown Bethesda. While all of this information is available to you on the various search engines, I've taken the time to inject my opinion on the condition, pricing, and likelihood of each property selling... or not. I hope you'll give me a call if you have any questions. I have loved living here over the years, and I want to share it with other enthusiastic people!

4523 Cheltenham4523 Cheltenham Drive, $799,900
Perfect little gem of a colonial on a pretty block. 3BR/1FB up. Another 1BR/1FB in the lower level. Pretty kitchen with stainless and granite. Handsome paint and tile throughout. Finished basement. Big shed in the back. It's one of the smaller colonials, and because of this might be a touch enthusiastic on the price. Days on Market: 9

4618 Highland Avenue4618 Highland Avenue, $799,900
Pretty, old cape cod on a corner lot. Needs some updating & TLC. Wood floors, lots of nooks and crannies. Legal basement apartment rented to NIH employees for ages (must re-license). Close to Wisconsin corridor, shopping and parks. 4/5BR/2/3FB. Two (count 'em) fireplaces. Off street parking. I'm thinking it's a little pricey. Days on Market: 42

4514 Maple4514 Maple Avenue, $1,499,000

First floor has great flow with smaller LR/DR, large open family room/K, and a separate office. Big basement with 2BR and big rec room. I like the tile in the bathrooms. Nice block. 4608 W. Virginia Ave. 4608 W. Virginia Avenue, $939,000
This house is really different. It consists of a lovely bungalow, originally built in 1923, along with a sizable addition, which serves as a studio/office. The bungalow is inviting, though dated. The kitchen is older, but the house and garden ooze charm. The addition in the back, which is connected to the bungalow portion of the house by a corridor just off the kitchen, is large and cavernous, and also quite nice. It features a separate entrance off of the driveway, a full bath, a large studio, and a second floor office- quite large. It's not obvious how to incorporate this space into the bungalow... they really do function as separate quarters. Perfect for someone in need of a home office. Very buyer specific. Days on Market: 535

under construction4527 & 4508 Maple Avenue, $1,525,000

Marcie, I think this is one of the most architecturally diverse neighborhoods in the area.
