The Mud Bug Run in Greensboro NC 2011 down at Hagan Stone Park is complete.
The local firefighters from Pleasant Garden and other local Greensboro businesses have decided to delve into the latest fitness trend of Obstacle Runs. Speaking as a participant in such venues I jumped in with both feet literally.
I have decided to make such a pastime a family affair. My eldest son has been accompanying me but today we brought the youngest since they did have a "Kid's Bug Run".
I actually was pretty pleased with my performance gauge against my last run which was the Warrior Dash in August down in Huntersville, NC.
Today's event actually was blessed with good weather as we had all feared for cold and rain as was promised by the weatherman but, as the week passed by the forecast changed in our favor. True to the forecast the rain ended early in the morning and by start time the sun was out and we actually crept up into the high forties and even fifty degrees! Hey I was pleased.
As in the past I did accomplish my goal (I finished!) and actually did so 8 minutes faster then my last mud run time. Oh don't worry my son beat me by a resounding 17 minutes (He was first to finish in our wave). To answer all those questions I was not the last though!
