A Beautiful Disaster in the Northeast
My town and thousands of others are still without power and it’s freezing cold in the Northeast. However, yesterday came the calm after the storm. The sun came out and reflected off the crystalline white snow, highlighting the already spectacular fall foliage at its peak. It was a sight to behold.
Me, my husband, son, and of course my beloved dog Lucy (who has slept with us the last two nights while we all kept each other warm) decided to make the best of it and drove around Morris County in the comfort of our warm car while capturing some magical photos of the snow covered fall foliage – something I’ve never seen in my lifetime and reported as an October blizzard for the record books. Philip Faranda wrote a blog post: Worst October Snow Ever Hits Westchester County and describes what millions of us are living through.
Tomorrow I will post photos of the more disctrutive side of the storm's aftermath, but since today is Halloween, I'm sharing the beautiful photos like nothing most of us have never seen: 6+inces of snow covering leaf laddin trees at the peak of Fall.
Once again, I hooked up to our generator so I could share these unique photos and hope you enjoy the tour of Morris County, where I call home. I hope everyone has a happy and safe Halloween.
These photos were taken only days ago when the temperatures were in the 70’s…
