Today is the deadline! Join the fight to defend our clicks from being taxed and throw your virtual tea bag into the harbor by visiting "Don't Tax Our Web," at http://www.dtow.org/fight.
Let our government know you won't stand for their proposed duplicative, discriminatory, duplicative taxes on Internet goods and services!

Below you will find some timely information that I received today from Melanie O'Kane, Virtual Assistant, Author & Editor at MAD Typing and Consulting in Madison, Wisconsin (http://www.mad-typing-and-consulting.com/ ) in regards to the Internet Tax Moratorium.

Today is the day that the Internet Tax Moratorium (ITM) expires! Don't know what the ITM is? Allow me to explain.

As reported by Fox News last month: "The original Internet Tax Freedom Act of 1998 created the tax-free moratorium, which Congress extended two times.  Legislation introduced in both Houses this year would make the ban permanent."

But there are those who want the ITM to expire. If this moratorium is allowed to expire, state and local governments will be free to impose taxes on Internet access, products and services purchased online, and
discriminatory fees that treat those purchases differently from other types of sales.

Proponents of allowing the ITM to expire want to tax our access to information and knowledge. They want to tax our "voice." They want to tax the unprecedented economic opportunity that exists on the Internet. As
Virtual Assistants the Internet has allowed us to be innovative, expand our businesses into new markets, increase our productivity, and integrate larger efficiencies into all aspects of our business operations.

Allowing the ITM to expire could change everything for us!
