Another hurricane has come and is going. Noel is moving up the eastern coast and not expected to cause a lot of damage.  There will be wash out from waves, and some folks will suffer, but the vast majority of us have dodged another bullet.  At the beginning of the hurricane season, we were promised a terrible year.  I'm really happy the forecasters were a little off.  We really don't need anything the size of the another Katrina to strike our shores.  Keep your fingers crossed.  Maybe (hopefully) we'll finish out this year without a major hurricane.  Real Estate, in general, needs a good hurricane season.

Tropical Storm Noel is pretty much done and gone.  Thank God!! The worst part of all this for me was the fact that I have a $4mill waterfront property on Singer Island (Intracoastal side) and a potential buyer for it coming into town next week from another state and guess which spot Jim "Doom and Gloom" Cantore decided to highlight - Singer Island!!!!!!!!  I wanted to go to the island and say "hey dude - take your black hat and go to another beach!!  You are scarring people for nothing!!" Hey, the beach is getting eroded but not the Intracoastal side so does this make my property more valuable now????Well, at least it kind of cleared up for my daughter and me to go trick or treating last night!!!

Francis -  thanks for your visit.  Praise be to God.

Barbara-Jo and Bill - Same here.  Happy to see it go away!

Billy B - The intracoastal properties of Singer Island should improve in value...  They were unscathed by the storm.  Hopefully, your client will recognize this value.  The weather channel is going to preach doom and gloom.  Nobody stays tuned to the weather channel to hear over and over again what perfect weather it is.  They don't help us a lot, do they...

Deborah -  To tell you the truth, here in Santa Rosa Beach, (excuse me while I knock on wood), we have been fortunate not to have any serious weather problems in a long time.  Sometime, a home on the beach gets eroded from waves after the second sand bar is washed away in a storm, but that is usually correctable.

Robert - I am glad it is on it's merry way and you are safe and sound.  Maybe this is the last for the season.  It should be over, shouldn't it?  I used to think October was the end of the season, maybe I am wrong about that.

Candy, the season actually goes into November, perhaps to the end of November, but with the changing weather patterns, who knows anymore....

And I was hoping to get rain out of it. We have been told we are at 115 days of water left around here.

Robert, I have been away at a sail boat regatta and did not listen to the news for several days so I didn't even know about Noel.  Glad to hear he didn't do any major damage.  You guys need a break from hurricanes.

Marchel, we had nothing from Noel here in Destin/Santa Rosa Beach.  Most of Noel's effects were felt on the east coast.  How was the regatta?  Post us some pictures!!

I am pleased for you Robert. I am glad we don't get as many here in Texas as you do. They seem to weaken too having to come up through the gulf and usually miss us. Hope you make it the rest of the season without any.
