What is so phenomenal about Canyon Creek in NW Austin?
Their Halloween extravaganza for the kids in Trailhead Park! Every year a Fall Festival is planned for the kids in the community. The past two years new blood has infused fresh ideas and enthusiasm to this Festival thanks to Jenny Zimmerman! This year Canyon Creek rocked with the addition of a first ever teen events ages 13-17 right after the kids event ages 0-12!
The transition between the two events played out seamlessly and everyone had a fantastic time! The local band, "Skinny Jeans", were a hit and the new teenage sensation, Ashley Dixon, captured everyones hearts! "Aftermath" winners of 2010 National School Jam Teenage Band Contest (Anaheim, CA) were incredible.
The costume contest judges: Don Zimmerman, Chuck Thomas and Sarita Suryavanshi had a tough job, but, came up with great winners: in the 0-4yrs category the winners were King Kong, Tinker Bell and Lady Bug; in the 5-8yrs category snack man, Mother Theresa and Cleopatra took home the honors; and in the older 9-12 yrs category, the winners were pirate gal, potato head and biker dude. Congratulations to everyone!
The crowd loved "Zoo Man" (Michael Hicks with Capital of Texas Zoo). He charmed everyone with his animals...even the snake! The little girls were amazing in volunteering to step right up and get a first hand experience!!
