Happy Halloween!

As you already know from my previous blog post, we are out of power since Saturday night... But! We were able to have a little fun at our party just before we lost the power. Unfortunately, only our neighbors who live in the walking distance from us were able to come due to the heavy snow storms and I have to tell you, it felt more like a New Year’s night then Halloween.

I have to admit... I became a Halloween fan just a few years ago, thanks to my sons Nikita, who is now 14 :O, and Andrei, who is 7, big boy trapped in the little boys body.

My youngest son (as a lot of boys these days) is into scary stuff.. And, of course, what can be scarier than zombies? That is why he chose to be a Zombie Hunter. My lovely husband decided to play along with him and got himself the Zombie costume. (Who the Zombie Hunter will hunt, right?) My oldest son, Nikita, didn’t want to dress up and wanted to be himself—a teenager (and I have to admit, having a teenager is scary enough).

When I went to buy costumes for them to the Spirit Halloween, I saw beautiful Witches hats... It got me inspired and I made costumes for me and my friend J. Her husband dressed up as a Vampire, little girl as a Dark Angel, and her son as a Zombie Hazmat.

You are so right! Teenagers are a big mystery.. My son is pretty good, but I have no idea what he may get into with his friends :( Thank goodness for tracking devises in our cell phones!

Yes, children had a lot of fun... Unfortunately trick-or-treating was canceled in our town, because of a safety issues, but at least we had a chance to get dressed up and have fun on Saturday.

What a great night you had! My grandsons went out last night, I stayed and babysat the baby who fell asleep as they were leaving. So I missed the faces and constumes. It was so good our children here in New Milford has the celebration on the town green to go to.

Well, our trick-or-treating was canceled due to unsafe street conditions. After Saturday's snowstorm we still have no power (2/3 of our state is still out) and we have a lot of trees down...

It is Wednesday morning, and we don't have our power restored yet (since Saturday night)... We all are staying at my sister’s two bedroom apartment.. Not easy!

And thanks for the complement! I just wish that my husband didn't listen to my youngest son and got himself a different (not a zombie :( costume... But no, he wanted to make his son happy!
